About David Ryman Photography
I had my first camera, a Kodak Brownie, when I was 11 years old.
My second camera, a Petri, I bought was the same as the one my Dad used.
In my 20's I used an Olympus OM-1, which I sold to a colleague at Halliburton in Bahrain. This was replaced with an Olympus OM-2. The equipment amassed included a power winder, a Soligor 75mm - 260mm zoom, and a couple of other lenses, plus an enlarger and its associated paraphenalia . Later I added an Olympus OM-4 to the kit with a professional camera bag to hold it all.
The addition of the camera bag made it easy for the burglars of my apartment to carry the lot off.
That ended my initial interest in photography and I sold the enlarger.
The arrival of digital cameras coincided with a well paying contract in IT. First digital camera was a Panasonic with 2Mb card, slipped nicely into the pocket but devoured batteries. Came with a nice, Crown Royal type, bag which was unfortunately not water-proof, so suffered some damage on the bike trip from Sacramento back to KCMO one weekend in June. Next was an HP megapixel camera which I bought for my step-son one christmas. As a professional, and as the state of digital camera art was not high enough, he sent it back. First thing I bought for it was an Otter box, water-tight to 100 feet. I used that for a while even with a damaged screen suffered on it's travels, until replacing it with another HP, a M415 Photosmart.
As a freelance reporter for the Dixie County Advocate, I have use of a Canon Rebel, which has rekindled my interest in photography.
